The Lakeside Improvement Association oversees garbage pickup in the neighborhood.
Garbage pickup is on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Grass clippings and yard items should not be placed by the curb before 6:00 pm the night before the pickup. Items other than usual household or lawn waste should be put out on Friday when the trash volume is lower.
Garbage and Recycling will not be picked up should our collection day fall on one of the following holidays: New Year's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day; service will resume on the next scheduled collection day.
You should contact Texas Pride Disposal if you have large items such as water heaters or washers NOTE: Texas Pride Disposal may charge a fee for some very large or unusual items. For all questions pertaining to trash please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Texas Pride Disposal provides the following guidelines:
Will provide back door service of up to 6 bags of household waste. Additional bags, branches and bulk waste should be placed curbside. *Construction debris-rocks, bricks, concrete, dirt, roofing, lumber, carpet, etc, will NOT be collected; unsafe containers (sharp, edges, holes, etc.) will NOT be emptied
Branches may be placed curbside, unbundled in separate 3' x 3' piles
Containers between 20 and 96 gallons, not exceeding 50 pounds will be collected
Up to 2 heavy/bulk items will be collected each service day
*Unacceptable items for pick up include: tires, batteries, liquid paint, hazardous chemicals, large tree trunks, R-R cross ties, fertilizers, pesticides, etc... please contact Texas Pride for proper disposal of these items.
Items must be drained of refrigerant and tagged before disposal by a certified refrigerant recycler
Trash must be placed for service by 7:00am but not prior to 6 p.m. the night before.
Recycling is available at no additional charge as part of the neighborhood trash service. Texas Pride will pick up recyclables from any bin, bag, box or container clearly labeled "RECYCLE." You may purchase additional 18-gallon bins from Texas Pride for $12 plus tax. Larger bins are also available for sale.
Pick-up is every Tuesday and you must have your bin(s) at the curb by 7 a.m. but do not put your recycling out before 7 p.m. on Monday evening. Sorting is not necessary.
Paper: Newspaper, junk mail, magazines, envelopes, catalogs, file folders, computer paper, construction paper, gift wrap, grocery bags, soda/beer boxes, shoe boxes, cardboard boxes, egg cartons, phone books, paper towel rolls, and wax-board containers.
Plastics: Plastics numbered 1-7 excluding Styrofoam. Includes jugs, bottles, bags, containers and clean kitchenware.
Metals: Aluminum and tin cans (soda, juice, canned food, etc.), aluminum foil, pie trays, metal jar lids, pots and pans, and light scrap metal.
Glass: Bottles (beer, wine, soda, etc.) and jars.
*These materials are ineligible for recycling and Texas Pride will NOT pick them up: Styrofoam, windows, ceramics, dishes, air filters, soiled pizza boxes, used paper towels and light bulbs.
GREEN STAR RECYCLING (formerly Vista Fibers) located at 1200 Brittmore, Houston, 77043 is an alternative place to drop off boxes should you not want the visual of what electronics/appliances/valuables could be inside your home.
