The LIA is tasked with providing some degree of security to the neighborhood. The LIA Security Director is tasked with this  job. The most visible evidence of this is the presence of an arrmed Harris County constable patrol. The director also speaks with local law enforcement and gathers data about the state of the area.
Being aware of what is happening in the neighborhood is a big part of being safe. With that in mind, the LIA brings you four forms of communication about the current state of security in the neighborhood and surrounding area:

1. The LIA Security Director will provide a summary of recent events in the printed Lakeside newsletter. This gives a broad overview of current events.
2. The LIA Security Director presents an in-person update and answers questions each month at the LIA board meeting. This meeting is always open to all residents.
3. Current security news will be posted to the website on the Security News page.
4. Lakeside critical security alerts are distributed as needed via email list. You can sign up for the list here (to be enabled).
